May Newsletter
The end of our regular season has come and gone. It was a good season very competitive. Our winter residents have all mostly gone back home. Those few remaining have a few weeks left. The off-season play is in full swing back to the 9: 00 game time, sometimes 3 teams or 2, but player fill in positions are needed. Not much else to tell, except stay hydrated, stay hydrated when playing. Oh drink a lot of fluids!! Until next time stay safe and drink fluids!!

Absent were: Luke, Deanna, and Larry.
Meeting was called to order at 11:25
Leslie Bales was present to discuss proposed changes to our web site. Using AI applications, she has upgraded the old BlogSpot website. Once she has input all of our changes and information, we plan to migrate back to it. The link is: lakelandsrsoftball.blogspot.com
Several things will be tested during our summer play:
We discussed the walk situation during games.
It was decided that a batter CAN NOT refuse a walk any longer.
All walks are mandatory, the 2nd or 3rd walk to a batter gives them 2nd base.
Any runner or runners on base would advance as normal. Bases loaded would allow 2 runners to score.
A 60 foot line at first base, similar to the line at home plate. For those aged 80 and over, crossing it with a foot down, prior to the ball being caught at first, would be a safe call.
These two changes will be tested during this summer's play.
The player appreciation shirt selection was tabled for further discussion.
Kerry asked if anyone finds a 2 button shirt suitable for league play let him know.
Meeting was adjourned at 12:25
