It was Game Day, and the only thing hotter than the weather
was the Visiting Team’s bats. With temperatures soaring, both sides battled
through seven innings, but the visitors stayed locked in — hitting hard early
and backing it up with solid defense all morning.
The Home Team kept pushing, trading runs and keeping the
energy up, but couldn’t quite close the gap. Everyone earned their sweat today
— it was a scorcher from first pitch to final out.
The middle of the order was locked in, with both Jeff and
Karl scoring three times each. Their back‑to‑back production kept the offense
rolling and fueled the visitors’ strong day at the plate. Our most senior
player — Carl, proudly in his 80s — crossed the plate twice and anchored the
defense with steady, heads‑up play behind the plate.
Final Score: Visitors 14 — Home 8 A tough, hot day at the park, but another good one for the Lakeland Senior Softball crew.
