Team Charlet – 16 Team DeRidder – 2 Team Cobb – 16

Wow, what a game! From everything I’ve heard, Team Charlet and Team Cobb came ready to play.

Team DeRidder… they arrived at the field, but softball clearly wasn’t the activity they had in mind. Except Karl, who absolutely showed up and went 3‑for‑3, just didn’t have enough support behind him.

 Early Game

Team Charlet started slow, stranding two runners in the first inning. After two innings, the score sat at 3–9, with Team Cobb jumping out fast and scoring 9 runs in the first two frames.

Then Team Cobb’s bats went cold — zero runs in the 3rd and 4th — while Team Charlet heated up, putting 10 more runs on the board through the 5th.

Bottom of 5: Team Charlet 16 – Team Cobb 12.

 Late Game Push

The defense stepped up, holding Team Charlet at 16 through the 6th and 7th. That gave Team Cobb a chance.

In the 6th, they scratched out 2 runs, closing the gap to 16–14.

Then came the bottom of the 7th with the middle of the lineup:

Marty — scores
Kim — scores
Tom — base hit driving them in

And then… the scoresheet stopped recording outs again.

 The Rumored Ending

Word is the game ended with two outs and the winning run on second. A bloop single was hit, but the third‑base coach thought there was only one out, so he held the runner in case the ball was caught. Bottom line: runner thrown out at third to end the game in a tie.
